orthodontistWhat is an orthodontist?  More often than not, orthodontists (also known as Orthodontic Specialists) are confused with dentists; however, they are different!

Orthodontists are dental specialists who have completed 2-3 years of additional advanced education and training beyond dental school to learn the proper way to align teeth and jaws. Complex bite problems and unique treatment methods are common place for orthodontists, and due to their advanced education and clinical experience, they have the knowledge and the skills required to make the best recommendations on the various appliances available to meet each individual’s treatment goals.

Only orthodontists are eligible for membership in the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).
